Abstract:
Nowadays most of the research dedicated to underwater acoustics is based on the collaboration of
international centers of research.
Very often processing and modeling of acquired data is performed independently using the computer resources
available at each center,
which induces a divergence in the analysis of the such data.
Current development of Internet access,
together with available zero-cost Open Source applications (like, for instance, PHP, Python, etc.)
can be integrated in order to minimize such divergence.
The advantage of such approach lies in the sharing of common analysis methods,
independently of the geographical distribution of research centers,
but without any constrains to further directions of analysis.
The discussion presented in this paper describes the TV-APM (Time-Variable Acoustic-Propagation-Model) interface of the UAN project,
created on the basis of such strategy,
its shortcomings and advantages,
as well as some of the obtained results.
