Abstract
This report discusses acoustic calibration measurements of the Dual Accelerometer Vector Sensor (DAVS)
at the Arsenal tank, in Lisbon. The measurements took place on the 7th and 8th of November 2016 and
aimed at the calibration of the device in the frequency range of 1 kHz to 4 kHz. The calibration was
carried out in terms of sensitivity and directivity in two dimensions for the DAVS hydrophone and two
accelerometers. It is shown the sensitivities of the sensor elements of DAVS (i.e. accelerometers and
hydrophone) are similar the nominal values of the individual elements. Differences may be attributed to
both the experimental set up and the interaction of the elements in the DAVS structure. The beam pattern
of the hydrophone was found onmidirectional within 3.5 dB but the directivity measurements for the
accelerometers were not conclusive. This is attributed partially to the lack of free-field conditions
and partially to the DAVS structure.
