The following milestones are foreseen under LOCAPASS:

1. Theoretic study: the first phase of the project foresees a theoretical study of the performance of the system being developed. The idea under this phase of the project is to determine the localization performance of a short antenna with only a few sensors in a typical simulated shallow water scenario. This study was to be possibly complemented by another study in similar conditions but based on real data collected in a joint sea trial.
2. Plan and assembling of the data receiving system: admitting that the system used during the theoretical study is a system existing in the open market, the objective of this second phase was to adapt this existing system to the needs of the project by means of minor changes on its hardware and/or software and its test in laboratory.
3. Sea trial test: this third and last phase was supposed to include a test of the system at sea, with the participation of the Instituto Hidrográfico, under a programmed sea trial foreseen in another project. Finally, the conclusions of the project should enumerate the main characteristics of the optimal system, its performance both in the lab and at sea as well as final recommendations for future system development.
