SUB-ECO - Acoustic Surveillance System

SUB-ECO is funded by the Ministery of Defense (Portugal) and aims at reinforcing the capabilities of national underwater surveillance using passive detection of illicit activities of both surface and submerged ships off the coast of Portugal. This project is funded with a total amount of 1.1M Euro for three years. Starting date: October 1st, 2015. Partnership: PT Navy IH (Coordinator), Esquadron 601 (Air Force), CISMIL, MARSENSING and CINTAL.

O presente projeto têm por objetivo a edificação de um sistema de vigilância e de previsão do ambiente acústico submarino, ao largo de Portugal continental. O projeto procura colmatar uma lacuna nacional, dotando o país de uma ferramenta fulcral no apoio à sua missão de segurança e defesa, na componente militar e da protecção do meio marinho que lhe é afecto.
