Project AOB-JRP, Plan of Work

During the AOB-REA JRP the following important milestones are foreseen:
  1. Development of signal processing algorithms suitable for a mobile source-receivers configuration and investigation of data inversion strategies suitable for a random field of receivers (Enverse and related data sets serve as a test bed);
  2. Development and at-sea testing of sonobuoy-based hardware prototypes fulfilling the requirements for the present JRP using ship-suspended sound source and buoy data telemetries on board the ship (Engineering Test and Sea Trial 1);
  3. Operational test/demonstration using dipping active sonar and buoy data telemetries on board an helicopter (Sea Trial 2);
  4. Assimilation of acoustic data into high-resolution models of coastal circulation by combining different ocean and regional ocean models;
  5. Evaluation of the overall AO-buoy system performance from acoustic prediction and at-sea data comparison and
  6. Presentations and preparation of referee articles and internal progress reports.
