The proposed plan of work to be followed under NUACE is as follows:

identify the terms of nuisance of the channel response for various tasks, e.g., for shallow water underwater communications or source localization.
study the attainable performance of model-based channel identification for underwater communications or source localization when compared to classical equalization or matched-filter
design appropriate algorithms for accounting for environmental based channel responses into processing algorithms
provide ints for the necessary experimental setup for gathering data to support the algorithm validation.
acquire the experimental data
validate the algorithms on the data gathered at sea
conclude on the appropriateness of the employed methods when compared with concurrent methods relative to the a priori information knowledge
